Google Ads for electricians, from panels to EV chargers.
A homeowner with a sparking outlet needs a different response from someone planning a whole house rewire. Your ads should separate urgent repairs from work that starts with an estimate.
Short version: Run Google Ads for electricians with emergency repairs separated from planned installations, and judge each by booked electrical jobs. Emergency electrician bids reach $66.00 in Google's Keyword Planner data below. Keep panel upgrades, rewiring and charger installations from losing their budget to urgent calls, and send each homeowner to an ad that matches the work they need.

More people search "ev charger installation" (14,800 a month) than "emergency electrician" (12,100), yet the charger click tops out at $31.77 against $66.00. The planned job is the bigger, cheaper audience. We give chargers, generators and panel upgrades their own campaign so emergency calls, which peak in July, cannot spend the money meant for installation work.
How we structure an electrical account
- Emergency repairs get their own schedule. Sparking outlets and sudden electrical faults need a prompt answer. Emergency ads run when your crew can take those calls, with wording that matches your actual availability.
- Panel upgrades and rewiring get separate ads. A homeowner planning new electrical capacity needs an estimate conversation. We track those booked projects separately from outlet repairs so small calls do not hide project costs.
- Chargers and generators keep distinct searches. Someone arranging home charging has a different project from someone buying backup power. Each gets service-specific copy, with public charging searches excluded from installation ads.
- Small installations have a clear place. Ceiling fans and added outlets get ads built around those jobs. Their budget reflects whether your shop wants standalone visits or prefers larger installation projects.
- Residential and commercial inquiries stay distinct. Home rewiring and a business electrical fit-out call for different crews and estimates. We advertise the customer types you serve and report booked electrical jobs by service.
Searches we keep you from paying for
We check electrical search terms for people seeking employment, instructions, equipment or a service your crew does not provide:
| Kind of search | Example |
|---|---|
| Job seekers | electrician apprentice jobs, electrical helper vacancies |
| Do it yourself | how to wire a ceiling fan, replace outlet yourself |
| Parts and supplies | electrical wire wholesale, circuit breaker parts |
| Services you may not offer | industrial switchgear repair, if your shop handles residential work only |
| Public charging searches | free ev charging near me, public charging station map |
When electrical demand moves
Across these electrical searches, October is the peak and November is the low, according to Google Keyword Planner's US data pulled November 2026. Charger and generator installation peak in July and bottom out in December, while panel upgrades peak in February and bottom out in May. We shift the electrical budget toward those installation services ahead of their peaks and pull it back as searches fall. Any increase in total electrical ad spend waits for a person.
Google's rules for electricians
- Electricians are eligible for US Local Services Ads under Google's category list.
- Since August 2026, Google has been moving existing Local Services Ads into Google Ads as Performance Max campaigns with pay-per-lead goals, with electricians in the first phase; ads remain on Search and Maps and remain pay per lead (Google's migration guidance).
- Electrical work is an urgent category requiring extra screening, including background checks on each service professional (Google's screening requirements).
- Urgent on-site electrical repairs with variable pricing must clearly disclose call-out charges, emergency hour surcharges and whether estimates are binding, in the ad or landing page (Google's pricing disclosure policy).
