Garage door marketing for springs and new doors.
A snapped spring needs a repair visit; a homeowner comparing new doors needs a quote. Your ads have to catch both without letting urgent repair searches swallow the money set aside for installations.
Short version: Run your marketing with separate ads for urgent repairs, opener faults and new door quotes. Spring repair bids reach $73.35 at the top of the page in Google's Keyword Planner, so a stuck-door caller should reach repair booking, while a replacement shopper reaches a quote request. Track the booked spring repair or installation back to its ad.
What garage door clicks cost on Google
Google's Keyword Planner shows the search volume and top-of-page bid ranges for repair calls, replacement quotes and commercial door work:
| Search | Monthly US searches | Top-of-page bid range |
|---|---|---|
| garage door repair | 201,000 | $15.74 to $85.54 |
| garage door spring repair | 18,100 | $12.42 to $73.35 |
| garage door opener repair | 165,000 | $11.99 to $70.65 |
| garage door installation | 40,500 | $7.68 to $50.00 |
| garage door off track | 1,000 | $7.79 to $43.89 |
| garage door replacement | 22,200 | $6.80 to $38.18 |
| commercial garage door | 3,600 | $2.98 to $31.68 |
| new garage door | 6,600 | $3.62 to $21.58 |

Replacement draws 22,200 monthly searches, more than spring repair's 18,100, yet its upper bid is $38.18 against $73.35 for spring repair. Buying a whole door does not automatically mean a pricier click, so replacement quotes get their own campaign and budget.
How we structure a garage door account
- Spring, opener and off-track searches get distinct ads. A running motor with a stationary door needs different wording from a door hanging crooked in its tracks.
- New door quotes have a separate budget. Installation and replacement ads speak to homeowners choosing a door, with a quote request instead of an emergency repair pitch.
- Commercial doors stay apart from residential work. A warehouse operator asking about a loading bay should reach commercial service, not an ad about curb appeal.
- Urgent repair ads follow crew availability. We pause the urgent repair ads when your crew cannot take another stuck-door call. Installation quote ads can keep running.
- Booked jobs identify the repair or installation. We trace the spring repair, opener visit or door installation to its ad and report booked jobs back to Google.
Searches we keep you from paying for
Someone buying a spring over the counter is not asking your crew to replace it, so we filter searches like these:
| Kind of search | Example |
|---|---|
| Job seekers | garage door installer jobs, garage door technician apprenticeship |
| Do it yourself | how to wind a garage door spring |
| Parts and supplies | garage door rollers for sale, torsion spring supplier |
| Services you don't offer | automatic driveway gate repair, if you don't service gates |
| Product support | garage door opener warranty claim, opener customer support number |
When garage door demand moves
Combined searches peak in December at 612,100 and bottom out in September at 336,920, according to Google Keyword Planner, United States, pulled November 2026. Spring and opener repair peak in December, while replacement peaks in July and reaches its low in November. We shift the existing budget toward those services ahead of their peaks, keeping replacement quote money separate from December repair demand.
Google's rules for garage door services
- US garage door businesses must pass Advanced Verification before service ads can show in Google Ads or Local Services Ads. Google runs the recorded video interview and license checks; the process typically takes 6 to 8 weeks. We plan the launch around that wait. Google's verification requirements.
- Garage door services and locksmiths are the only US categories requiring Advanced Verification. Google may request re-verification once every 12 months. Google's Advanced Verification policy.
- Garage door businesses receive no pre-badge Local Services Ads and move to pay-per-lead Performance Max last, in 2027. Google's transition guidance.
- Google treats garage door work as an urgent Local Services category, with extra screening that includes background checks on each service professional. Google's screening requirements.
- For urgent repairs with variable pricing, disclose call-out charges, emergency hour surcharges and whether estimates are binding in the ad or landing page. Google's urgent service pricing policy.
