Remodeling & home builder advertising

Remodeling advertising for kitchens, baths and builds.

A bathroom refresh and a custom home need different crews, schedules and sales conversations. The hard part of remodeling marketing is separating someone collecting cabinet ideas from a homeowner ready to hire your crew.

Short version: Run remodeling advertising around the projects you want to build, with separate ads for kitchens, bathrooms, additions and custom homes. Bathroom remodel bids reach $55.00, according to Google Keyword Planner's November 2026 US data. Keep price research apart from contractor searches, and judge each project campaign by booked customers instead of estimate requests.

What remodeling and home building clicks cost on Google

Google Keyword Planner shows how bids differ between homeowners researching a room renovation, finding a contractor and planning a new home:

home addition6,600$3.39 to $18.96

The bigger build has the lower bid range: "custom home builder" reaches $12.80, while "bathroom remodel" reaches $55.00. Custom builders also have 40,500 monthly searches here, so the lower bids do not mean nobody is looking. We give custom homes their own campaign instead of letting bathroom searches consume the building budget.

How we structure a remodeling and home building account

  • Kitchens and bathrooms get different ads. A homeowner planning cabinets and an island should see kitchen work. Someone replacing a shower should see bathroom work, with copy that makes your project scope clear before they call.
  • Additions stay apart from basement finishing. Adding living space outside the existing footprint is a different job from finishing space downstairs. We separate those searches so you can see which projects produce booked customers.
  • Custom builds speak to future owners. For home builder marketing, we distinguish building on a homeowner's lot from buying a completed house. Searches for listings and rental homes do not belong in a custom construction campaign.
  • Cost searches get their own treatment. A homeowner researching kitchen costs may become a customer. We keep those searches apart from direct contractor searches so research traffic cannot quietly take over the renovation budget.
  • A signed project closes the loop. We trace the kitchen inquiry or addition call to its ad, then report booked projects back to Google. Your report shows the cost per booked customer, beyond the request for an estimate.

When remodeling and home building demand moves

Across these searches, July peaks at 438,700 searches and April bottoms out at 269,000, a 1.6x difference, according to the same Keyword Planner pull. Bathrooms peak in January and bottom out in April; kitchens peak in September and bottom out in December. Custom homes peak in July and bottom out in September, while additions peak in October and bottom out in February. We shift the remodeling budget between services as their seasons change, and reduce spending on projects your construction schedule cannot accommodate.

Google's rules for remodeling and home building

Google lists "General contractor," "Bathroom remodeling" and "Kitchen remodeling" as available US Local Services Ads categories. Since August 2026, Google has been moving existing Local Services Ads into Google Ads as Performance Max campaigns with pay-per-lead goals, with this trade in the first phase. Those ads still appear only on Search and Maps and remain pay per lead, according to Google's migration guidance.
